James and his good friend Tom Wendell embarked upon a self-supported bike packing
recce ride in July 2024, focusing on Northern Malawi. James commented that the ride
was very different from his established routes in Southern Malawi. It is hilly, very hilly, in
the North and sparsely populated but with beautiful smooth tracks. After 12 days of
riding James has lots of ideas for future tours, but more recce work is required before
they can be launched!
