iCycle in conjunction with the Illovo Cycling Group (ICG) a Johannesburg based cycling group presented a 6-day gravel cycling tour with a history theme to the Natal Battlefields. The route was from Johannesburg, via Heidelberg to the smallest town in South Africa, named Val. From Val it was onto Natal via Wakkerstroom and then onto Dundee, Blood River, Rorke’s Drift and finally Isandlwana.

The riding was superb, the accommodation good, the history awe inspiring and luckily as we had a wonderful tail wind each day, the bus ride back to Johannesburg relaxing! iCycle plans to present this tour again in 2026, we hope you will join us!
